Lloyd, Brad C’05 |
A player with an unbridled enthusiasm for the game, Brad was one of the fastest defenseman of his era. His ability to dart into his own zone to retrieve pucks often took away dump and chase tactics from other teams. His first goal came freshman year in an away game against WVU. A concussion sustained against Cal U the latter half of his sophomore year caused him to miss the rest of that season and the entire first semester of his Junior year. Brad made a strong comeback and helped the team to its first ever National Tournament appearance in Phoenix Arizona. In final game against Radford University, he was involved in “the big brawl” when he charged in from the point to protect Ryan Tucek and Tom Del Cocco when Tucek was hit from behind by one of the Radford players. His play his senior year once again helped to propel the Polarbearcats into the National Tournament. He was playing D in the final game of that tournament when the game-winning goal was scored in overtime against Florida Atlantic University. In the four years that Brad played, the team compiled an incredible record of 65 wins 21 losses and 5 ties, four league playoff appearances, one Kaleina Cup Banner and one CHE South banner to go along with two appearances in the ACHA D III National tournament. |
