Career Highlights:

Kosczuk, Brian

C’03

Every team needs a foundation around which to build and Brian provided that and much more as a blue liner during the three seasons that he played for the Polar Bearcats.  A steady defensive defenseman, Brian was an anchor at the point for SVC after having a strong ice career at Latrobe High School. He was the only player to have three consecutive + seasons from 1999 through 2002.  His quiet leadership resulted in his obtaining the “A” as an Assistant Captain during his Sophomore and Junior years.  In each of those seasons he was also selected to represent St. Vincent in the Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Hockey Association All Star game. Brian was known for his ability to quickly move the puck to forwards, crushing hip checks along the boards and smart play in his own end of the ice. He also had a good low shot from the point and saw time on the power play.  Brian opted to not play during his senior season, but regardless he made outstanding contributions to help re-establish St. Vincent as a bona fide intercollegiate ice hockey program.
