Career Highlights:

Farrell, Bob

C’72

Bob was one of the founders of the SVC Ice Hockey Program.  He actually borrowed from his tuition money to help start the team.  He was noted as one of the fiercest competitors to ever lace up the skates at the school and served as an Assistant Captain during his Junior and Senior years.  A large part of the teams early on ice success was the ability of the defense to clear the front of the net for the goaltenders.  Bob became the consummate enforcer in that role.  After his playing days, he suited up for several seasons with the Westmoreland County Community College Lumberjacks and actually played against St. Vincent after graduation.  He finally returned to the school in the 1977-1978 campaign and assumed the duties of head coach, a position that he held until the team disbanded after the 1981-1982 season.  During his coaching tenure, he actually suited up for one game when illness created a shortage of players.
