“J.D.” was an original member of the Polar Bearcat Ice Hockey Team.  He had never played ice hockey before attending St. Vincent, but was coaxed into playing by Bob Farrell, one of the founders. He improved enough to play in every game that was scheduled during his 3 seasons of participation. His versatility and athletic ability enabled him to play all 3 forward positions.
