The type of player to whom everyone looked for inspiration, “Slush” was elected team Captain his senior year.  Although he never scored a goal, he was noted for his fine offensive skills, especially his stick handling and ability to quickly move the puck out of the defensive zone to the forward line.  The defensive part of his game also made him an early star by combining fierce body checking with smart defensive zone plays.  He is considered to be one of the best players from the original team.
