Career Highlights:

Adams, Ryan

C’05

In the two years that Ryan played at SVC while a graduate student, speed was ordinarily spelled A-D-A-M-S.  He had explosive bursts that would start attacks or stifle opposing teams on back checking efforts.  He was a noted playmaker who would often make “sick passes” to the sticks of his teammates for scores.  A consummate gentleman on and off the ice he received the Al Reinshagen Award for Excellence his first year with the team and carried an Assistant Captain’s A his second season.  Ryan was nominated to two College Hockey East All Star games and started the 2003-2004 contest at Center.  His most memorable moment may have occurred during the 2003-2004 ACHA Division III National Tournament held in Phoenix Arizona.  A late goal by SVC staged a comeback to tie the game against the University of Richmond and send the contest into overtime.  After being on the ice for that score, Ryan swept the puck from the right side corner in the Richmond Zone in O.T., made a move around a Spider defender, drew the goalie from the net, and roofed a backhand shot into the upper part of the goal for a thrilling SVC victory.  In the two seasons that Ryan played, SVC had an amazing .803 winning percentage finishing 11’th in the country in each year.

Text Box: Speed, speed, and more speed.  There were few who skated as well as #13, Ryan Adams.  Seen here in action against South Dakota State University.
